A fraction of the wants of the people
“we have difficulties to find clean water”
“the traditional market is a mess”
“a lot of public facilities are neglected”
These voices are still coming out from the people and many more, the people’s aspiration shouted for the betterment of the city.
Here and there, the voices complaining for government support are expressed by those who are actually right and proper to receive it.
“the people are segregated by the latest election campaign while the elected leaders set their eyes only to those who vote for them, for those who don’t, are considered not-citizen’s of the city.”
Statement expressed by anumber of people feels becoming a guest in their own home.
“I want to be a seller (at traditional market), and actually propose for a seller’s booth a couple of times, but without a result.”
“I’m employed by one of the company, with a questionable welfare. We went through the labors association, but…”
“its difficult to find a job these days, and the number of unemployed are rising”
These aspirations are expressed by those who are actually motivated to work and those who are working with problematic welfare plan. A number of efforts have been done to earn their living, the question is, how far have the government facilitate their efforts?
When the people are shouting and complaining, we ask, have the people been served by those who designed and execute the public policy? More facilities are built, are the properly managed and handled for the people’s benefit?
The public facilities are built by the government with the people’s money through the management of City Budget Plan, APBD (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah) and State Budget Plan, APBN (Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara). Billions of rupiahs are plotted for infrastructure and donations for the needs. Is it correctly alocated and executed?
Billions are alocated for their welfare (sallary, domestic and overseas comparative-studies, benefits, honorarium, over-time fee, etc.) and to mention the official-vehicles (cars and moto-cycles). The questions then arise, have all these benefits returned the value to the people?
Perhaps the City budget plan, APBD, was a fabricated in a way to seemingly for the people but in reality are designed for seremonial, leisure and official’s benefits?
The people are shouting, any many are silenced. (editorial)
